Exam Proctoring
In support of life-long learning, the Boyceville Public Library offers exam proctoring for students of all ages. To request an appointment, please read the following guidelines and complete the registration form below, or call the library at 715-643-2106.
Scheduling
Exams can be scheduled during weekday hours:
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (exam must be finished by 5:45 p.m.)
Wednesday and Friday: between 11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (exam must be finished by 6:45 p.m.)
- A request for exam proctoring must be made at least one week before the desired test date.
- Scheduling is dependent upon the time and availability of staff on the requested date.
- After you submit the registration form with your requested test date, the library will contact you within 5 business days to confirm or reschedule.
- If an exam has been scheduled but staff availability has changed, the appointment will be cancelled or rescheduled. In the event of cancellation, the library will provide as much notice as possible.
Requirements
- The student is responsible for confirming that the library’s proctoring guidelines are acceptable to the requiring institution before proceeding with exam.
- The student must bring a valid photo ID on the day of the exam, as well as any supplies needed to take the test.
- The institution requiring proctored testing is responsible for sending the examination to the library, and it is the student’s responsibility to verify that the library has received the test before the testing date.
- The student must provide an envelope and postage for mailing the completed exam.
The library can
- proctor both written and online exams free of charge for area residents.
- monitor the student periodically during the examination.
- receive and send tests via email and the U.S. Postal Service.
- provide a computer workstation or laptop for online exams if the student reserves one at time of registration. Please note that our computer workstations are in the main area of the library, not in a private room.
- attest that the student took the exam within a specified period of time, along with the date, name and signature of the proctor.
- mail completed exams to the requiring institution via email or the U.S. Postal Service.
The library cannot
- interpret test instructions for the student or assist with an online test.
- guarantee a quiet and distraction-free environment.
- continually oversee the student during the exam, or ensure that the student does not have access to personal devices or other resources.
- retain a copy of completed examinations.
- return tests by FedEx, UPS, registered/certified mail, or fax.
- proctor online exams that require software installation or setting modifications on library computers.
- sign any statement required by the educational institution inconsistent with our policy or with how the test was administered.
- proctor an exam determined to be unreasonable in its demands or too burdensome to administer.
- assume responsibility for completed examinations once they have been mailed.
